Hello. My name is Bobby. I'm new to this forum. I need your help guys. I currently purchased my 2010 Prius III last month and I lowered it last week with Eibach Pro Kit springs. I have 17" rims on it with 215/50R/17 on the tires.. I haven't checked the offset yet. I have a problem with tire rubbing both in the front tires to the fender when I hit a bumps on high speeds from 30 mph to 70mph. Is this gonna be corrected after alignment?? or I should get 205/45 to stop the tire rubbing. Any good advice is helpful. Thanks.
Hard to advise without knowing the wheel's offset. It may be corrected with the alignment, or you may need to roll your fenders. You'll need to have the alignment done anyhow, so I'd start there before ordering new tires. I'd also roll the fenders before I'd order new tires, but again, it really depends on the offset and how much room you have to play with. The width of the wheel would also be helpful. iPhone ?
sounds like you need to roll your fenders and/or run spacers, but yeah, without offset/width info (tho i can assume its a 7 or 7.5) its hard to tell which
Thank you. I'll check tomorrow about the offset when I go to the tire shop.. I'll post another thread on the correct category later..
No to spacers! Spacers will effectively lower the offset and push the wheel even further out. iPhone ?
if he's rubbing on the inside, he'd need spacers. if he's rubbing on the outside, he'd need to roll fenders. impossible to know without offset, tire width and wheel width edit: just reread the original post, he's rubbing on the fenders, so no to spacers
if you can find a place that'll rent you a fender roller (harder and harder to find these days tho) then about 2-3 hrs of your time + $30-60 to rent people on various forums or other places (you can try CL) often offer fender rolling services, usually like $20 a corner? it may be better to shave your rears and roll your fronts. the rears are seamed so rolling has a higher chance of buckling your quarter panel
