How did it take to get your CA license plates?

    I read 4 to 6 weeks. But my friend who bought a Prime a few months said it only took about a week for his.

    Read my mind... the last person who bought a car in our office it took 3 weeks plus a day or two. She went over and requested the black plates, she said total was about 5 weeks for the new ones. This was about November.

    I just want the plates to request the carpool sticker.

    Really depends on how long it takes the dealer to go do the registration. DMV hands them the plates on spot.

    Just to follow up, mine took 2 weeks. The dealer was mailing them to me, but I just called them when I got the email that they were being mailed. They gave me the license plate info over the phone and I was able to apply for my HOV stickers the same day.
