I have the "maintenance required" message on now. I am taking it in to the shop tomorrow, but was wondering if it is OK to drive before then. I think it is just a standard message, because nothing was wrong before the message came on .. just the notices "maintenance required soon". So, can I drive untul then?
The message comes on every 5,000 miles, reminds you to get your tires rotated, and oil changes every 10,000. It's just a mile counter, nothing is wrong. The message will change to "Maintenance Required Now" when you actually get to the mileage. Yes, it's okay to drive. Your car will actually tell you in the dash when it's not safe to drive. This happens with things like hybrid system problems or brake system malfunctions.
