I just bought a Prius V for my daughter who graduated college last week. The same day she graduated, her 2007 Camry's engine went south.I'm not sure what the problem was, but that's water under the bridge. The car we bought was a 2012 with 52,000 miles. The dealer says it is a "2" trim Package, but based on the VIN and the way it is accessorized, I think it is a "3". I have always been a diesel guy. I love the mileage and longevity, but we both liked the Prius, and I think that Hybrids are the best option going, especially for her needs. I have always joined forums associated with the cars i own. I find them to contain a wealth of knowledge, and I am encouraging my daughter to join, as well. I hope to learn a lot from all of you who participate. I want to be in the 300k club too!
It is a good car. Just pay attention to the oil changes and verify that all the recalls have been done, especially the inverter software update. The Toyota dealer can verify.
I is a "certified" car (for what that's worth), so I would assume all of the recalls and TSB's have been addressed, but I will have them show me the proof when we bring it in the first time.
You can register and check your VIN on the Toyota Owners' site, here: Log into Your Toyota Owners Account | Toyota Owners
You want the inverter update for sure as it will stop you in your tracks without warning. Then a $3k unit is ruined. Dealers are not super reliable on things like this.
