Got our 13 Prius Three Preowned and E0E recall was done in August before we bought it in Sept. DMV required proof of correction for it and I got the pink/ orange certificate from the dealership and mailed it in. Two weeks later we get a letter from the DMV saying our renewal is incomplete due to not providing the proof?? I called the DMV and they said the proof is normally provided electronically by the dealer. I called the dealership and they said they have never had to do that and the pink certificate has never been an issue but they are sending me two more copies of the certificate to help me get it taken care of. I am on hold with Sacramento's DMV registration number (different from regular DMV service number) but it will be a two hour wait. Once I receive the certificates from the dealership, I plan to visit the DMV in person and sort it out. I do have a scanned copy but feel like I might as well wait for "originals" before I go there. Anyone have this issue??
i don't recall this particular issue, but judging by some others, cali dmv is not one of the reasons people like it there.
I've had to send in proof of the recall before they registered by 2010. I initially didn't want the recall done, but they forced me
I called the State "Field Office Support Unit" aka "FOSU" and they aren't sure why I was sent the letter if I sent them the pink correction certificate. They recommended that when I get the replacement's from the dealership, to take it to AAA of the DMV directly so I can get my stickers.
Wow..... pretty sad state of affairs when you have to practically get a lawyer and court order to register your car in California! And I thought the liberal progressives were ruining things in Washington!
Didn't know that Donald Trump was a liberal progressive. Yeah, wow, a bureaucrat makes a mistake, sound the alarm.
Not true. But non-members pay a fee as is customary for every contracted licensing office. And they have their own line. And they pay for tows, out of gas service, tire changes and other perks. I have been an AAA member for many years and count it as one of the best values available. If nothing else, their chairs are hella comfy if you have to wait.
