Hey all, It has been a long time since being on Priuschat. We bought out first prius in 2007 new off the transport truck. in 3/3/07 and on July 31,2017 we traded that great car in on a certified 2015 Prius v wagon with 24k miles So far we love it , and we do miss the little pri We have not yet taken it on a road trip yet, but soon. IS there anything I need to know that is very different from the Gen2 prius besides the oil filter canister ( I just found that out today) I am not liking that change, to me that was a 1950's idea . The room in this new v is great and looking forward to another 200k mile prius and to get another 10 years out of this new one. So again, if there is anything I need to learn or really keen up on or fun things you all have found out please let us know. Thanks very much.
Just read the v forum. It is a much better car than a 07. No belts, vehicle stability control, integrated roll and pitch control, generally a much better ride and more power as well. I like the steering control and feel better and the back seat is amazing for a small car: slides back and forth plus reclines. Make sure all recalls were done including a serious one on the inverter software (if it includes the 15 model). Pay attention to oil changes, some become oil burners around 150k miles. Overall you will be pleased.
Thanks RJ, It does feel like a very nice ride! , our 07 started using oil around that same mileage so we finally replaced it at 200k miles
Congrats gone2green on your new v!! I love my '16 v. One of my favorite features is the Hill start control. It is so subtle that i really had to pay attention to find it happening. My only "downside" I have a "gripe" with is that extra 300lbs needs more than a 13 hp boost lol. It lumbers around on me sometimes. My dream for this car.......I really wish they made a plug in version of the v. My wife has a '07 prius with 182k and we still love that car. Serves us very well.
