Just bought the drawtite hitch 24847 for our 2015 prius v wagon however the hardware kit came for a Honda accord and not the longer bolts for the prius with the conical washers. Does anyone know how long and what size bolts I should get at home depot? I am going to get grade 8 bolts but not sure of the size or thread. thanks
Can you not remove one of the bolts that holds the towing eye on and take the bolt with you to the hardware store? Or is the 2015 different than the 2012-2014?
Well the Orange box store did not carry that size, but found 4 of them at Ace hardware, hitch installed, had to buy a couple grade 8 lock washers and flat washers cause the honda hardware only came with 2 conical washers. But all is good will def, hold a bike rack and 2 bikes no problem Thanks again guys!
One other question, I noticed there is or was not an appearance plastic cover under there so installation was super easy and fast, Should the 2015 prius v have this cover, or was that only for the Prius, and not the v wagon? thank you again
It is not, I got lucky they sent the right prius hitch, but the hardware pack taped to the hitch was for a honda 24899 hitch. Ordered from Amazon, called them as we are leaving on a trip Saturday and needed the correct hrdware kit sent, they could not get it here in time so they took off 50 bucks, so I saved 40 bucks as the bolts and washers were 10 bucks.
Sounds like a win win on the discount and $10 worth of bolts. I know the 12 v has an "appearance" part that has to be partially unclipped to slide the hitch in properly.
