2007 prius trink latch

    Has anyone replaced their latch I could use some help.

    The dash shows a door open and the trunk isn't fastening closed. Soft or hard close with the latch open it wont move to closed.
    Any thoughts before I order a new latch assembly 69350-47011?

    My issue isn't the gooey switch its rather the trunk latch itself at the bottom of the trunk

    No sorry necessary I can try that tomorrow I was hoping to find some info on anyone having a similar problem or having a defective latch mine is super rusty
