Over the past 6 months have transitioned from Acura Legends as daily drivers to used Toyota Prius's (Prii ?) Never saw myself as a hybrid car person but after some time with the Prius, I'm pleasantly surprised at the roominess, build quality, ride quality, and, of course, 50+ mpg.
Here's today's 82+ mpg (54 mile distance) from Tahoe City to home. Granted I started at 6250' and ended at 4413'. Temps in the 70s and mostly highway. No wind.
Bought red one first. It is 2010 III with Solar Roof Package. Paid $12K from private individual. 53,000 miles. Silver one is 2011 IV also with Solar Roof Package. Paid $9400 from private individual. 34,000 miles. Both West Coast vehicles. Probably paid too much for the former while the latter was a screaming deal (I thought)
Wow, a pair of Gen 1 Legends looking good with no rust. In the northeast, they've been ghosts for 10 years or more. Even the Gen 2's are rare sightings, and more rickety rust buckets than golden era luxury sedans. Love that era of Legend and Lexus ES/LS. The Gen 3 Camry based ES 300 is probably my favorite all-time sedan. How's that for an off-topic ramble?... Enjoy your Gen 3 Prii.
I loved my '89 Legend. I had the 5 speed, which provided a lot of speed and power. It was a great car.
