If you are still unconvinced that Toyota's recommended tire pressure is completely, utterly WRONG, take a look RIGHT NOW at this: ... http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/treadwear.jpg ... which is what happens when the center of the tread spends all its life NOT bearing its designed load. . This isn't *my* wheel. I ran into another Prius owner today and we got to chatting, and I noticed that his tires looked BALD. He obligingly turned out the front wheel and we both got pictures of it -- he had never actually noticed. He had 35 psi in this particular front tire, but said that chances were good that they had been run lower than that sometimes. . He's probably going to swap into a set of Hydroedges before winter. . _H*
You have me convinced. But I had been using 40 front and 38 rear. I think I am going to go 42 front and 40 rear from now on.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(hobbit @ Jul 8 2006, 10:10 PM) </div> mine was close to looking like those and i had kept mine at 42/40. i should've took some pics before i replaced them.
