Does anyone know why the mpg rating for the Prius C in the 2017 model year decreased from a 50 mpg average to 46? This change holds up even after the change in EPA calculations is accounted for. I can't seem to find why. Feel free to direct me to a previous thread if this has already been discussed.
I'm sorry, this should say Prius C. It's the only one I've looked at. I don't know if the other models saw the change.
ok, thanks! you're in the prime forum. you can report your post and request a mod to move it to a c forum for appropriate responses.
The EPA made rules changes for the tests that applied to new 2016 models. The change for the 2017 Prius c is likely due to an adjustment to reflect those new rules, and allow across the board comparison for all models going forward. Nothing was changed to the car itself. Unless there was some technical issue, that we haven't heard about, that Toyota had to fix. So not likely.
