2010 Engine super high revs during acceleration.

You need to get a mini vci and techstream so you can scan it for codes.....

• When the revs are high, what is the HV Battery display showing?
• Are the battery bars cycling on the display quickly?
• Any recent maintenance work?
• Have you noticed this behavior before?
• Original owner?
• Any accident history?

You might get more focused responses by saying what about this concerns you. If you are worried about over-revving the engine, it's ok to relax. The engine runs under computer control at all times, the computer knows the rev limit, and it just picks the best throttle position and engine output from moment to moment, taking into account the total power demands on the car, the current state of charge of the battery, temperatures of things, and so on.

If you're worried about whether this indicates a possible decline in the condition of your battery, well, that's possible, and there are probably some controlled tests you could run to investigate that possibility further, but a lot of people on PriusChat may be obsessing over their batteries more than the facts warrant. Uncontrolled testing ("it sounds higher-revving now than it did on this same trip last week") tells you less, because you probably aren't monitoring all the factors that the computer uses when choosing its battery/engine balance for a given moment.

sounds like a simple carburetor adjustment, are you mechanically inclined?

 

Carburetor? Come on bisco...don't mess with the new guy.

 

I've noticed whenever the 12 volt battery's been disconnected (sans memory saver, completely dead) at the next start up or two, the engine will rev up oddly, like it's recalibrating something.

 

The car does have to re-learn and adjust to your driving habits. There is a specific procedure (that I can't locate right now, of course) I have from Toyota that "should" be followed, but just driving the car as you normally would accomplishes the same thing.
