Reman hybrid battery install malfunction

    One more safety note for those that follow. As discussed here the inverter side of the relays should be dead unless the car is in Ready Mode.

    However,
    There are capacitors the size of pop cans inside the inverter that can feed power directly back to the orange leads at the battery relays. When the car is shut off there are resistors across the capacitors to bleed them down. Toyota recommends letting the car sit off for at least five minutes before removing the relay cover.

    Always check for voltage at the relays before removing the cables!

    If you undo your 12V ground cable for a minute and hook it back up, it may allow your combo meter to power up to get your miles. Check with Matt at Texas Hybrid Batteries about a replacement combo meter. He will program your cars mileage into the new meter. He's my go to man for combo meters for my customers.
