Eh, if a person is willing to shop on the car's screen while driving, they are willing to do it on their phone.
There is at least a chance that the car could lock the feature out while in motion.

i think automakers are really wrestling with these ideas. there is a lot of dangerous infotainment available, and they want to sell cars, so...

They are looking ahead to the self-driving cars... You can shop, sleep, read or work while getting to work.

My car won't allow me to tap in addresses or phone numbers while it's in motion, so I'm sure this'll be locked out.

Toyota smartly locks out many screen functions while a car is in motion. Very smart from the liability point of view. Drivers don't like that (too bad), and I support any car company that attempts to limit driver distractions. Sure, cell phones and their owners are a big problem. Good discussion. Where should the line be drawn?

DD is going to continue to be a problem just like DUIs were before moms got mad and it made the leap from 'mostly an insurance thing' to being a criminal activity with real-world punishments.

I've seen people ON THIS SITE ask about VSS spoofers for their GPS systems and modifying their dash systems to play video on the fly!!
