Also worth noting is the Thomson-Reuters article cited in Automotive News: https://blogs.thomsonreuters.com/answerson/u-s-risk-losing-auto-industry-china/ "China is leapfrogging over the U.S. in its bid to take advantage of the automotive sector's seismic shift toward electric vehicles...."
Promoting or not actually has nothing to do with them cutting the credits. In order for the Rs to get this passed without votes from the Ds, they had to do the equivalent of checking the couch cushions for spare change. After cutting bigger deductions and credits, they still had to go after the pocket change ones like the plug in credit. Losing this sucks, but I'd rather see the benefits to students, for medical bills, and deductions for local taxes replaced first.

POLICY: • A source says House and Senate negotiators have agreed to keep a $7,500 tax credit for electric vehicles and a wind production tax credit in their final tax bill. (Bloomberg)
Deaf ears? The current party in power doesn't have ANY ears (look at the polls), except for their big $$ donors. Which is why they're rushing it through, behind closed doors, with NO debate. (At least back then, both sides were in the room!)
