Hi all ! I have an 07 Prius with 230,000 miles on it. Tonight, while I was doing 55 on the turnpike, on the way home, everything went dead. I had to be towed. I had headlights, interior lights and flashers, but nothing else. Is there any way to figure out what the heck happened and how to fix it ? Thanks, Dom
You need to read the codes. This is easily done with a bluetooth enabled OBDII reader such as this one and a smartphone app like Torque or similar.
Or dealership service department can check codes for you, for $50~100. Chances are it'll end up there anyway. Maybe they'll play nice and aborb that cost, if they're doing the repair.
I think having an OBDII dongle and a smartphone app is a basic necessity these days with any car. Especially seeing how the whole kit will set you back less than $30. Very, very useful tool.
