2100 mile return trip from Dallas TX to Bend OR via Dallas-Amarillo-Denver-Grand Junction-SLC-Boise-John Day-Bend. This includes going through the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70 and various twisty mountain highways in CO, UT, and OR. Tires at 40, cruise set 75-80... which yielded better MPG at 49.6 than the original OR to TX direction at 47.4. And a few bonus pics: Copper Mountain near Vail CO Beaver Liquors (ha!) in Avon CO Hella boring I-70 near Moab UT And finally the Bates Motel in Vale OR
Oh, and the entire drive was on Mastercraft winter tires; should I had been running Michelins I probably would have gained a mile or two.
Almost did and totally should have hit Arches and Moab, but kept on 70 to Green River and cut north to Price.
So, here's the route back I took should anyone be interested. Plenty of elevation changes to go around.
