Found this site too while checking out buying a Prius. Picked up my blue #8 package last weekend. I'm averaging over 50 mpg. I drive a combination of freeway/town...about 27 miles one way. Interesting to hear about your experience at the dealer. I really lucked out. When I decided on a Prius, I called the local dealer here in Eugene. They said place your order and get the car maybe in three months. I wanted to beat the September 100% federal credit. I called up in Portland and got a "new" salesman. He said he'd call me back. He did and took a $500 deposit by phone for one the people hadn't picked up in time. He caught hell for it, but I drove up 3 days later and picked up my new car. Didn't have a lot of choice, but I love the blue (we have a LOT of green and gray ones here). And the package 8 is pretty nice. I keep trying to find reasons to drive somewhere.....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(bossfan @ Jul 28 2006, 04:16 PM) </div> In regards to magnetic gray Prius... I would take part in the forum. I will give a little feedback on my recent experience. I really wanted door edge guards. Found very good ones, easy to apply for $4.15 per box. Two in a box so you need 2 boxes to do both doors. Anyway, I really wanted to use chrome. I thought it would be real nice looking. And, it did. But then I talked to a buddy of mine in the body shop business and he thought a metallic silver pinstripe would look awesome. So I ordered some and tried doing it myself. Looks very good, and not just for a beginner..But with the pinstripe the chrome door edge protectors looked over the top. Luckily bec of the price I had decided to purchase both the chrome AND black door edge protectors. Now it looks much better with the black. I will eventually get some photos going...Just still doing a bunch of mods. Easy ones, but mods nonetheless. I installed the mud guards after work today along with the rear bumper protector. Got to play with the hydraulic jack and impact wrench so that was a nice way to start the weekend. Don't get me wrong...I am not a Tim Allen of tooltime or anything, but every once in a while I enjoy working on little projects...
