As I was killing time at the Dealer today with my continuing CEL Soap Opera, I went to check out the Yarises (Yarii?). As an aside, I have concluded that the Yaris Hatch is MUCH more popular than the Sedan, based on inventory. The window sticker on every one says 14" Steel Wheels with P175/65R14 Tires. But, every one had 15" Steel Wheels with P185/60R15 Tires. Half of them were Potenza RE92s (Treadwear 160) and half were GY Eagle LS (Treadwear 360). Did they change the specs and forget to update the Window Sticker File? The Website says the Hatch and Sedan get the 14" and only the "S Sedan" gets the 15". Curious
I don't know about that but my parents got a S Sedan and I think the wheels look ugly. They look like spare tires with a crappy cover on them.
on the Toyota Canada site they list the 15's as optional. It might just be your dealer placing bulk orders for the 15's
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Frank Hudon @ Jul 27 2006, 09:54 PM) </div> I don't doubt they're an option. The odd thing is that every one of them is absolute Base Model Stock, with no options on the window sticker, and the window sticker lists the 14's. If they did have upgrade tires, I figure they'd charge for them, or at least list them somewhere. If they went to the trouble to replace all the wheels, I KNOW they'd charge for them. Plus, they'd have large piles of 14" rims in the discount bin in the parts department
I'm dropping off the wifes car for the steering shaft update and will "walk the line" and see what we have as a stock tire.
The Aero Package (Canada) or the S model (US) will have 15" alloy wheels. The base tyres with steel rims and wheelcovers are 14s. Uplevel models will have 15" tyres on steel rims with wheelcovers. In short, only the base model has 14s, the others get 15s Edit: Toyota Canada is offering a 6-CD Changer for $125 on Pkg "D" and Aero Pkg models as a special offer.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(theforce @ Jul 27 2006, 06:41 PM) </div> so does every other less-than-$18k FWD econobox with no options. Alloys for me.
