My 2016 number 2 has started to make a a loud squeaking noise in the rear passenger area. Sounds like two pieces of plastic or rubbing together. It's worse when I hit bumps. If I'm driving on a flat level Road there's no noise. I just made an appointment with the dealer for next week to check it out. Any ideas out there. I carry nothing in the hatchback. Thank you.
Not the hatchback door? If you lay the back seats flat, is it still there - or worse? Could something have rolled under the front seats - slide them forward to double check.
I have a little squeak from my near side rear quarter panel trim that I cannot get rid off, could It be that? On mine its temperature sensitive and above 12oC it doesn't do it. If thought about taking the panel off, but am a bit worried about the airbag and breaking clips.
Thanks for the feed back Thanks for the update I'll check that thanks Thanks for the help. I'm glad I joined this site.
Hi Just got back from the dealer. It's the shock nuts. Should get them tomorrow . Drop off car. Should take about 4-5 hours to repair. Thanks for the info. I told the service advior about what I found on this sight. He looked at me a bit strange.
Not sure if first response went threw. Parts on order. Thanks for the help. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The PriusChat is a GREAT resource... I remember how LITTLE the Toyota service Dept knew about the Gen 1 2002 (I waited for the Curse Control to be an option before ordering my Prius over the Internet as that was the procedure back then.. them roads are long in Texas) .... I had to watch them like a Hawk.
I still haven't had the rear shock nuts changed out on my 2016. There was a technical service bulletin about that, right? If it ain't broke... My Prius has never had any of the rattles, clicks, ticks, or squeaks that so many guys have reported. Especially the Prime guys. But maybe all the road noise and tire noise drowns out those rattles?
Road noise won't drown out that noise when the shock nuts get loose. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
