…to my 2009 Gen II Prius to take the oil level on the dip-stick from the lowest mark to the highest mark? I'm sure this has been answered many times before, but I checked the oil level in the Chuggy Pig today, and the level was about ¼" above the lowest mark. About 7,000 miles since the last oil change, perhaps it's time for the next? Thanks in advance! - Wil
I use full synthetic oil and change the oil at around 7,000 miles. If you are not ready to do a change yet, I would suggest adding 1 quart, then see where the level is. You will probably need another 0.2 quart to bring it up to the full dimple. The difference between the two dimples is supposed to be 1.6 US quarts, but I haven't had occasion to test that.
