Hoping this is a simple fix and fully covered at 39k. I don’t think I’ve ever had fluid leak inside one of my cars before.
Maybe something on your shoe? Or can you reach up and see where it's coming from? What kind of fluid?
Has the car being worked on recently in a dealership, and the guys over there, just forgot to cleanup their safety boots?
Thought it sounded familiar; here's another thread, same issue? Brake Pedal - ABS Module inside boot leaking sticky stuff | PriusChat
There is a TIME limit on your warranty too. 3 years I think. You probably are way over that. Two most likely causes are: Plugged A/C drain or a leak in the heater core.......neither of which most people can fix themselves. Edit: That really looks like OIL. Regardless, you need to get it checked out.
It’s at dealership now. We will see what they say. It’s had all of the service at his dealership. Only 39,000 miles. It’s definitely a drip inside the car. Not something I spilled or dropped.
Guessing that would look more like water. Not from my shoes. It’s an oily tacky small drip. Will see what they tel me shortly. Are you all ready for this???!? Apparently a DayQuil liquid capsule fell behind the dash at some point. It melted? In the recent summer heat. They cleaned it up. $143
Seriously? DayQuil liquid cap. I can’t believe this was the answer. But somehow more believable than a serious problem with a car so young.
