I’ve had these installed for awhile now. They are OEM puddle lights that you can get off of the new Nissan/Infiniti cars and not a cheap set from eBay. Wiring is just like OEM, in which I ran them to the drivers side a pillar. They activate when you open the doors and/or when you walk up to the car and the courtesy lights light up
How are they mounted? Putting anything under a car in the rust belt has to survive winter slush and snow.
They look very nice. (Be careful if you have to jack up the car to change a flat.) Great picture, I wish the rear tail lights were really that bright.
The are mounted to the side skirts. Holes were drilled for the light. Then 2 mounting holes were drilled per light and held in with oem nissan clips lol No worries sir. I do all my own work and made sure to mount it away from the jacking points. Also I will never jack up the car any where along the sides.
Looks great. I wish I had that kind of installation skill. (And I hope I never have to use that little scissor jack that came with my car. )
You should do a dry run, see what you're in for. The link between the torsion rod and the jack is a cast eye: the torsion rod crook dances around like crazy with every turn. And the metal is very soft, starts getting chewed up right away. Looks like this: It's the single eye design that makes it so unstable. Honda (OTOH) uses a bent-plate in a U-shape, with two holes, which keeps it much more stable as you turn: Sorry for being off-topic, can't resist a rant.
