The Society for Age Reversal (http://www.rescueelders.org) suggests multiple stages of life extension technologies. The first is to get your conventional markers to a healthy state, such as blood sugar, blood pressure, and blood lipids. Next is Metformin, even for non-diabetics. Next is mTOR reduction, such as with Rapamycin and/or calorie restriction. Then NAD restoration to a youthful level. Next eliminate senescent cells with dasatinab and quercetin. Once you've done all of these, young blood is the next step. Each is important, setting up the conditions required for the next step. They are also listed in price order, with Metformin dirt cheap and young blood rather exotic. Once researchers figure out which factors of young blood affect aging, then young blood may no longer be necessary.

All of these therapies are available now from cutting edge doctors, or maybe in another 20 years from the boat anchor types. The younger you are, the more you can afford to wait for conventional validation of these therapies.

Metformin was approved for medical use in the UK in 1957. The FDA managed to approve it in 1994. You'll have to ask the FDA why they waited 37 years after UK approval. Here we are 61 years after first approval and most people don't know that Metformin is an anti-aging drug.
