Taking a cassette player from a 2006 - will it work in a 2009?

    I really want a cassette player in my 2009 Prius. The aftermarket one I bought couldn't be installed and it seems the JBL system won't work with aftermarket at all? I'm wondering if I can swap out with a cassette/CD from a 2006 Prius or will that be another wasted purchase? Thanks!

    there are interface units for installing aftermarket in a JBL prius. your 2006 head unit probably won't work even if it is from JBL, definitely not gonna work if its not JBL. the JBL has a power amp under RF seat which integrates in an unusual and stupid way with the head unit. so you will need a TYTO or something to interface an aftermarket unit to the JBL amp. see older posts and/or check out crutchfield.com.
