Has anyone tried installing an Amateur Radio rig and antenna on the Toyota Prius Prime Advanced yet? Of particular concern is the non metal composite (graphite) rear hatch as far as the lack of a Ground Plane and if you can get one of those hex screw clamp thingys mounted to it or will it split like fibreglass would or (perish the thought and never let the XYL in on this...) DRILLING AN ACTUAL HOLE IN IT to Proper Mount an antenna once and for all... As Japan also has a large group of Amateur Radio Operators per capita, certainly one of the fine folks who build Toyotas in JA Land should know? Sincerely, William PIETSCHMAN W8LV (Good on QRZ for email you know what that means if you are a ham operator no spam bot shall ever take this radio station down So There and 73.) 73 and All the Best! DE W8LV Bill
Hi Bill: I've got an Icom ID-4100 installed and a Diamond NR-770HRKS mount with a dual band foldover antenna. Works great on D-star and vhf/uhf analog at any power level. I'm ususally on 30b or 30c 73 KI4EGQ
