So, recently lost my techstream computer setup to a lightning strike, RIP. My mini VCI cable was connected to the computer and the computer was plugged into a wall. I got another computer up and running and tried both win XP and 32 bit win 7 setup. Techstream will install but the mini vci firmware program does not recognize my cable when it is plugged in. Tried this on 2 different computers. I'm assuming the cable got messed up from the lightning strike and ordered another from amazon. While I'm waiting for it to arrive, I'm wondering if people use any different scan tools for functions like bleeding brakes. That's what I need to do. If so, what do you use?
The COM ports are seeing the cable? Have you tried different ports and tried other devices in the ports you are using for the mini vCI cable?
Tried every USB port in both computers. Power light comes on, but software says it can't connect. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
New cable is working great! Old one must've also gotten fried by lightning... Who'd have thunkit? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
