Hi All, I am looking for advice on my car. I got a engine light on with the following codes indicating to replace the Hybrid pack. I checked the battery status using torque mobile app and found that there are two battery blocks have low charge compared to others. However these two blocks are still have 14V. 1) Is 14V in the battery blocks too low that we need to replace them? 2) Could it be buzz bar (orange in color) that might have gone bad? 3) Considering the age of the car, I was thinking of going with refurbished battery pack. What do you guys suggest? Codes - P0A80 - Replace Hybrid Pack P3013 - Battery Block 3 becomes weak P3024 - Battery Block 14 becomes weak Thank you for your help.
If the car is in generally good conditioning and you intend to hold onto it for 3 or more years, do not bother with any kind rebuilt/refurbished/remanufactured/re-anything battery. Get either 2k1Toaster's new replacement modules or a new pack from Toyota. If you need to do a temporary fix to tide yourself over, consider replacing the failed modules yourself in block 3 and maybe block 14. I say maybe block 14, as they may respond to recycling/rebalancing. If you are not the DIY type and confident about messing with High Voltage, then I say pass on that. If you are going to DIY, then you will need to assemble a basic arsenal of tools and equipment.
