Any ideas on where to get fuel injectors for the 2ZR-FXE motor without killing my budget? I've been quoted 145.00 each! I was thinking maybe get rebuild kits for them. The number 1 injector is apparently not atomizing fuel correctly and has washed the cylinder wall with gasoline so there are now 2 vertical polished areas about where I believe lubrication has been compromised. Also, I am wondering whether the 2ZR-FE motor uses the same injectors.
Let me check my leftover parts. I believe I have a fuel rail that is just taking up space. My 2010 had 213K when it experienced catastrophic disassembly. I’ll let you know in the morning if they are still in my stack of parts
Also, start an album of the photos that you have questions about. Some of us may have seen what you see before and know how to stop it.
What I've done in the past is sent them to Rich at cruzinperformance.com, who restores them for $20 each and ships them back to you with test certificates showing the performance of each injector before and after the service. He's in Michigan; there could be similar services near you.
Thanks for the responses! I did find a set of 4 rebuilt injectors on eBay for around 80. Fingers crossed on that!
