Hello, I have a prius 2008 model and it wont turn on, I want to tow it to my mechanic but there is not front tow hook in my prius , My friend has a 2011 model prius he has a tow hook , so I wanted to know weather the two hook from prius 2011 will work with my 2008 model prius?
You inferring someone is going to tow you with all 4 wheels on the ground? That's not going to work it will damage the transmission and the owners manual makes a point of that. Do not do that. You need a wrecker with the front end grabber like they use to repo cars. Buy a year of AAA for $89 money well spent.
Is there not a tow hook cover in the front bumper? It should reveal a threaded hole, and the tow hook that threads into that hole will be stored in the same place as the tire-changing tools. At least that's how it works in the US - can't be 100% sure about Sweden! edit: oh wait, do you mean the towing eye is missing from your spares kit? If that's the case, yes, all threaded Toyota towing eyes are the same and the unit from a 2011 should work just fine.
Make sure you understand the information in the owner's manual for using that tow-hook. Especially consider the speed (slow) and distance (not far). Take notice of EdTheFox's cautions. Consider using a towing dolly, to tow with the front wheels off the ground, or put it on a flat bed and have it transported to the destination.
