the OEM plug (Denso SK16R11) has a gap of .044", the Toyota spec range is 0.039" to 0.043". do you have to adjust the gap on the OEM replacement plugs? I have read on denso's site that the iridium plugs gap should not be adjusted, and that measuring them could damage the metal contacts. So what are people doing?
I bought my plugs at the dealership and I used two feelers 0.53 & 0.50 combined, snug fit with the feelers, both on the old and the new plugs. Talked to the parts dude and he stated that they are already pregapped and no adjustments need to be made. I checked all 4 of the plugs and got the same results 1.03 (the closest I could get to 1.00). Drove the car around and ran like a champ. 2007 Toyota Prius
