Hi all In Australia and looking at a Prius full leather Itech 82000kms Seller is getting rid of as mother cant drive and is in nursing home Full Toyota service history completed on months rather than distance which I think is a positive Car has sat 4 months since the last service 8k Aussie so pricey but they sell for this all day in Australia sometimes with more kms and sometimes the lower spec model Clean inside and out with beige leather interior Only the real spoiler show signs of fading Any pointers please advise Really like the concept of these cars Thanks in advance
welcome! main thing is the hybrid battery. getting near the end of average expectancy, and sitting 4 months can be har on it. brake actuator can be an expensive issue, as can a/c. but overall, a great car, and one you're likely to do well with. all the best!
If it sat 4 months in hot summer temperatures its risky. The hot interior can bake the battery without getting cooled down with ac a few times a week. Going to car auctions where the cars sit for weeks or months waiting on paperwork and titles to get sold, in the summertime I see about 50% of the priuses developing some kind of heat related issue after baking in the sun for so long. Of course when a car is brand new it might sit for a year but thats different. Once a hybrid is a few years old the game changes.
