Has anyone had this issue? Perhaps only the pre-4th Gen Prius hybrid or 1st Gen Prime PHEV? New reports of dying Toyota hybrids appear to confirm dealer’s story of buried ‘sudden deceleration’ scandal
I've never had my Priuses die like that, but I sure have other cars. Nobody has ever built a car that can't fail.
From the linked article: "Toyota is recalling 800,000 Priuses in the United States, from model years 2010 through 2014, over concerns that they may suddenly lose power on the road." So...not 4th gen.
Took wife's car to get windows tinted today. Had no problems getting there. The shop puts the tint on and when completed they park it outside. I get in and notice my dash is a Xmas tree. Check engine light is on and there's a message that there's a fault in the hybrid system and pre-collision system, take vehicle to dealer. There is only 9400 miles on the clock and I know the shop drove straight into the shop, no detours. Any ideas what caused the 2 systems to suddenly fault? Have to take it in for warranty work! moto z3 ?
That they didn't. I was standing there watching them the entire time. Only had 1 door open at a time but they did have the hatch open for 1.5 hrs. But I've left it open for longer than that with no I'll effects. Plus the system automatically shuts off the lights after 15-30 minutes to save battery power. moto z3 ?
I can't figure what that event has to do with the topic of this thread, but we do often digress. Anyway, it's not hard to humor us and check your 12V battery. It's a lot quicker than going to the dealer. One of two things will happen. Either you'll find that your problem is super easy to fix (put it on a charger) or that the car needs a dealer's attention.
