Their harshness towards didn't-search-first newbies is legendary. Subaruoutback.org is very busy and friendly; has a similar vibe to priuschat. There is also the ultimate subaru message board, which might be the oldest still-active online Subaru community. Lots of oldtimers there with piles of experience. On the other hand that last site isn't always up... Any way you slice it the soy wire issue is pretty well known in all of those forums.
