Hi everyone I'm stuck with 10th anniversary prius which has door light on issue but turns off when brake pedal is pressed. Due to this car doesn't lock. I started from rear and checked boot lock and all 4 door sensors(replaced with another prius) but no luck. Finally got to the R28 plug on C pillar by rear passenger seats has male connector which connects both sides of female connectors, by removing the female plugs turns the door open light off. Now if I disconnect the plugs then the stop light on boot lid and passenger side brake light stop working. After carefully looking into the car I found out that the car has been accident repaired. Please if someone wants to shed some light on this issue as I will be opening this car on monday again. Your help will be much appreciated.
Sounds like a "just keep doin' what you're doin'" situation ... it has been accident "repaired" in a manner of speaking, and you're getting closer to finding the spot you need to find, and with continued investigation, you will.
It would help if you’d be a little more clear about the car’s year and model. I don’t think my Prius ever displays a Door Ajar message; I get “Key in Vehicle” messages which prevent locking. There are two causes I’ve had: Either leaving my key in the vehicle, or not completely closing the rear hatch, which then bounces open slightly and displays a Key In Vehicle message (instead of “hatch ajar” “door ajar” or similar). But maybe your Prius is different from my 2012.
The Gen 4 does show door ajar and the MID display shows which door or doors. Which door does the display show is ajar?
