I actually drive a 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid, but when I had my Prius this website was the greatest so I’m posting here hoping someone may be able to help So this car has a diagnostic in the dash, it says everything is OK... Basically this car doesn’t function as a hybrid anymore - the only time it goes full battery mode is at full stop, park, or in reverse. Other than that, the engine is always running. In start and stop traffic the car will go silent when I stop and then even just idling forward the engine kicks on and brings my mpg waaaaaaay way down. Any easy troubleshooting suggestions if this were your Prius doing this?
This might be one of the first Prius Plug-Ins with possible battery problems. I'm not sure what that means, which display, what's it saying? Maybe post a few more times (5 posts minimum?), and this will allow you to post a picture of what you're seeing. For starters take a look at the hybrid battery fans, clean them as needed. I'm not that familiar with the Plug-In fans, understand they're relatively easy to access though. How many miles on it? How long have you had it? How's the 12 volt battery; do you know how old it is? Original? Plug-In owners should weigh-in soon.
OP is very confusing but I think he's asking about his Ford Fusion hybrid. He'll get a lot of guesses here but there are knowledgeable Ford hybrid forums out there where he'd get better answers.
Its hard too help becouse i doubt Ford has same Hybrid tech as Toyota perhaps you could find dedicated forum for Ford cars?
