    There is no storage for a spare, it is all battery under the cargo floor. So any spare you buy will be in the visible hatch area.
    An exterior mount would need a 2 inch receiver and play hell with aerodynamics, and I question if the hatch would open.

    To update: I installed my spare, donut from my 2005, The only seeming difference is the radius to the edge of rubber tire on the car is 12"/ VS 11.5 inches with the donut. Mounted I took a test drive and did a few mild, but sudden turns and hit the brake. Reaction on L and R was the same , stability was good. Cost of tire at local junk yard is $28, CA. Maybe cheaper by you, every thing costs more here. If a legitimate product comes out eventually I'll look into it. How ever I feel confident that this will suffice.
    As previously recommended the Corolla donut 2003-2008 will do, same wheel as my donut from 2005.
    Photos above with new/old doughnut.

    This speaks volumes:

    Toyota nixes the underfloor tray, the spare, and raises the hatch floor, 4~5 inches. If you want to come back from all these changes, this is where you end up. :mad:

    @Andyprius1 , What is the size of your spare tire? Is it 125 / 70 D16 or 135 / 80 D16?

    Sorry I never answered this, I have not posted for a while, answer is I don’t know, the dealers cannot give a intelligent answer! I just used what I knew as a known spare doughnut for a Prius Hybrid. Most reputable junk yards will allow you to return it, if incorrect.

    I just got stuck with an unfixable flat on 2017 Prime, no spare, and had to buy 2 tires (need to replace both rear tires), which sizes are:
    Tire: 195 /65 R15 Wheel BOLT PATTERN: 5-100
    Cost about $269 installed for 2, Discount Tire with my AAA discount of $10/tire
    It seems like I made two mistakes:
    1. I never knew I had no spare, to plan for
    2. I didn't ask for the 2nd good Toyota tire, with 26500 miles from Discount Tire, to keep as a spare (no rim), even if only in garage should one of the 2 old, remaining tires go bad, or at least as a spare. It looks like eBay has Donut spares for $99 + $25 shipping, which is worth buying. I want to see if the donut will fit behind the passenger seat on trips? Anyone tried? .
