Ric Ocasek, frontman of The Cars dies in New York City - NBC Sad to see this guy go. I once worked on a film about his early music career.

This is sad news. The Cars were *the thing* back in the day. Loved them. It just so happens that I was a teen at their peak...which I suppose means I'm a bit biased ( nostalgic high school memories, etc... ). It also happened to be the near the peak of MTV..back when they actually showed music videos instead of 24/7 'reality' shows. Their videos won quite a few awards, etc... The video for “You Might Think” was a video effects tour-de-force. It won at least one Buzzy, I recall. I work in video now and I’m still blown away by what they were able to accomplish given the tools available at that time.

Easy....they just crawled in through the passenger door..... I have at least one, probably several Cars song on my phone. I remember bombing down a back road in an old Firebird listening to several of their songs. Ric, Thanks for the memories pal. See you topside later on.
