Saw this under my 2004 today. Anyone know what it is? Looks to be a broken plastic part of some sort.
Wao! How did that get stuck in there? What you can see there is the exhaust aluminum sheet, stucked in there. From looking at it, it appeared it had already coroded, and fallen off. The corroded section is where the 10mm or so bolt is tightened on the exhaust manifold.
Thanks - but it definitely is a plastic piece that is broken/mangled. I tried to look it up but didn't get anywhere online.
Always good to provide some orientation for the pics. The first one for example, is that taken from driver's side, about half way along, looking kinda diagonally back toward passenger side rear wheel? You can just see a bit of the muffler? It's maybe item #19 here: Splash Shields for 2004 Toyota Prius | McGeorge Toyota Parts
Good point - it's on the driver's side; if you were sitting in the back seat it would be about directly under your feet. That's a good web site but hard to tell if that is indeed the correct part.
I think we're getting closer - #20 looks to be what is underneath the broken part. A white ABS type of plastic. I'll try to get a better look today. Duct tape for the moment...
Fairly large - there are a few bolts still holding it in. Looks to be a bear to try to R&R... Also, underneath it looks to be an orange cable - I'm guessing an electrical line.
I've never owned Gen2, but I have not seen any white ABS type plastic used in Gen3 or PRIME so far. Do you think it is OEM parts?
It the HV cable tray that takes the HV from the battery to the inverter. It is a decent repair at the dealer, but I think you want that repaired properly.
