Going home the other day, an animal ran out in front of me and damaged the passenger side of the front bumper. So I went to youtube to see about replacing it and what will be needed. In the video, there looks to be a tank of some sorts and mine is not there. What is this tank for??? I have add a picture for reference.
Your car will work without one, but it might make a slightly higher engine noise or maybe very slightly worse fuel economy. Also if you're driving in deep water it will suck in water to engine and break the engine easier.
That would eliminate half of the posts and make this site totally useful. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The OP showed a circle around the "Tank" that was missing from a Youtube video, not his/her car. I answered to the best of my ability based on that information. If I can't come up with an educated guess, I don't post. Thank you.
He DID say it with a question mark. That is commonly understood as a qualifier - the equivalent of preceding the comment with "I could be mistaken, but..."
Well, best49erfan DID start a thread with a question - the equivalent of preceding the post with "I've already tried guessing, does somebody either have the answer, or help on where I would find the answer?"
Helmholtz, for anybody interested in lookup up the principles involved. You can see from the illustration that the intake air doesn't go through it, just over the mouth of it, like playing a bottle.
