Today , part of the weatherstripping between the small front section of the sunroof and the main section disappeared. I had noticed it was shredding and made the mistake of opening the roof today. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks.
We purchased new our 2011 with the Nav. Sunroof Solar option. Now with 122K miles on the car, we now have a couple of issues that have us questioning Toyota engineering. The gasket between the Windshield and the Sunroof Wind Deflector has split down the middle across the entire width of the roof. This allows rainwater into the Wind Deflector gear area and I'm afraid that this will be followed with rust in the Sunroof motor / gears area, or even leaks into the car. I've used a RV protector - but I guess i didn't get in and do both sides of the rubber. We also see a bit of rust color within the Solar panel but it still runs the fans. Living in Central Florida the Nav. Sunroof Solar option has been used almost year around. I'll post separately, but for the last year our Prius has been burning / using a Qt of oil ~1k miles. Being we use Mobil 1 0W/20 Synthetic - besides the hassle of always having to add the oil, it's a bit of a hit on the pocket book. Takes me back to my first car where I had to set the points and change spark plugs every 3K miles.
