I’m going to an estate auction tomorrow night and they have a white 2011 Prius 2 with 35000 miles. New tires and new battery. I want to bid on it and would like any opinions on what you think would be a good price on this car. im leaning towards a 8500 bid any thoughts?
estate auction huh ? Could be a senior citizen who became unable to drive car for many years. It could have gotten those 35,000 miles first 4 years and then due to illness sat unused for 4 years. I would check the car-fax to be sure it has been driven on regular basis every year. Ideally miles would go up about 3,000 per year for last 9 years
Estate sales are usually administered by professional liquidators that know the going values of high ticket items. They have to have a standard in which to go by. The standard for automobile values is probably going to be KBB. They will also, in all likelihood, be asking Private Party prices. I would guess that there are going to be automotive auction houses that will be in on the ground floor for bidding. Just do your research, make you bid and keep your fingers crossed.
try to see how many bids there are. I've heard of these cats being sold for scrap prices. if you are the only bidder low ball out. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
If you put it that way on here, plenty of PC members will eventually go to the estate and out bid the poster
Agree, the HV battery probably will go south soon w/o regular discharge/charge cycles. And the TPMS batteries probably has one more year left.
Darn, that is crazy for an 11 at auction. Must be super high demand local or relative that wanted it unless it just happened to be a new HV battery, very unlikely if not specifically mentioned.
