I currently have a gen 2 Prius and have taken the EV battery to recondition the cells. I am using a 4x balance charger and doing a discharge cycle of 1.0a to 6.0v and a charge cycle of 5.0a to 7500mAh. But the problem seems to be that some of the charge cycles get cut off early and I'm not sure why. Heres what my cycles are looking like: Capture by Raphael posted Dec 14, 2019 at 5:38 PM
Who makes the charger? What model? What's date of manufacture? Not easy to help without this essential info!
Fair enough here is the exact balance charge I am using EV-PEAK CQ3 LiPo Battery Balance Charger,100Wx4 10A Four Channel LiPo, LiHV, Life, NiCd, NiMh Battery Balance Charger Discharger
Thanks for the info... Gonna research that charger type... The modules you're charging are significantly larger than the batteries these chargers are designed for. Having things shutoff too soon is always better than them shutting off too late, right? Most chargers have sensitivity settings you can change so it doesn't shut off early... But in general, it's wise to charge up a battery to max charge in stages so the heat does buildup too much and your cooling fans have an easier job to do.
