Our 2010 Prius is 9 years old with 163,000 miles. The battery has struggled recently, and finally died. AAA came out, and he documented 4.13 V and 36 CCA (original spec is 335!). Got replacement at Batteries +Bulbs for $215, installed. Impressive service life, I'd say! P027 ?
OEM replacement would have been around $225 to $250. But that went 9 years for you. I find most aftermarket batteries are only good for about 5 years
My Banner is 50 bucks here. Yuasa is almost $300 and Optima around $160. I'm happy if two Banners will last 10 years.
I did mine for my 2012 in August. Batteries Plus is where I got mine. I like the FULL 4 year non-prorated warranty. Also, they are just down the street from me.
Hey davidtm, which battery did you get at Batteries+Bulbs? Was it the Duracell Ultra Platinum? Also, how did you get your store to install for you? The one by me is adamant that they won't touch a Prius due to the hybrid system (stupid I know, but I got the same spiel from the Pepboys and OReilly's by my house). I can install it myself, but just curious how you got them to do it for you. TIA!
Duracell, not sure which one. The guy didn't hesitate about installation, but also said he had a 2nd gen Prius. Pixel 3a ?
Duracell Ultra Platinum AGM Battery for 2012 Toyota Prius L4 1.8L 325CCA Hybrid Car and Truck - SLI51PAGM at Batteries Plus Bulbs
Yep that's the one. My local store told me they won't install it lol. People really freak out about Priuses.
It looked pretty straightforward as I watched him, and I'm sure there are YouTube videos that cover the details Pixel 3a ?
