Hood latch . . .

    I have a 2012 Toyota Prius C. The hood latch is worn out. I need to replace it. How hard is it to replace it? how much should a new one cost? Online I see low as $20.00 and high as $120.00.

    Why is it fixable? Why do you replace most car parts? Either they are broke or to modify the car.

    Best things to do is find a wrecking yard that has a Prius C and remove the hood latch from the wrecked car yourself so you will know how to replace it on your own car. This will also ensure the part cost less than $20. This is a very easy nuts and bolts project that will take less than a 1/2 hour if you have all the tools you need.

    I seen new latches for $20.00 online. Is the latch going out common?

    So I put a ton of oil, WD40, and grease on the hood latch assembly. Seems to be working. Thanks.
