This just started happening with my Prius when I first push the start button. All the warning lights come on as normal, then all of the sudden everything goes black to include the display, interior lights, and exterior lights. The Malfunction Indicator Lamp dimly starts to blink with sometimes in unison with a click from the engine. This light gets brighter until eventually everything turns back on. It seems to run fine after this, but when I start it up again, it tends to repeat the process. I have had issues also with the display for the radio/phone all the sudden blacking out and rebooting when I am driving. I have made an appointment for my Prius to be checked out, just wondering if anyone knows what this would be.
Yeah either the 12v or the first relays/systems/circuit that fires up everything into ready mode. As in, inspect ground wire and all connections to 12v.
