TV’s ‘Diesel Brothers’ to pay US$850,000 fine for rolling coal | Driving "Heavy D and Diesel Dave, the lads of Diesel Brothers fame on the Discovery Channel, need to dig deep after a federal judge ordered them to pay in excess of what would be a million dollars in this country for violating the Clean Air Act with modified trucks. It’s a fine totaling $851,451 of the finest American dollars, a sum which may actually rise once they get the plaintiff’s legal bill. District Court Judge Robert Shelby put them on the hook for that, too. That amount could very well push the total to nearly two million bucks. At issue are legal findings which state the lads alter or remove pollution control devices from rigs being modified as part of the show."
Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes. Much as I dislike EVangelists being the transportation equivalent of vegans...I don’t really have any problem with the feds hammering on a few nails that stick out. Especially urbane diesel drivers.
