I recently purchased a 2007 Prius, but I didn't notice that doors are loose. They all close when not in a level ground. Any DIY solutions are welcome. Thanks in advance!
I need a fortune for that... I think putting a plastic pin on the plastic rod, maybe extruding 2-3mm may solve the problem somehow.
Price for the door check is way too high. More than 100e per door to fix this... One thong that you can do to make them a bit better is to use good belt grip on the door check. CRC makes industrial belt grip that works for this. Don't use normal stuff as that's more like lubricant to stop belt noise. When using the belt grip wash the door check and then put a good layer on both sides on plastic sliding faces. Close the door and wait for it to dry completely (to next day for example). Probably even better if you could just leave the door open. Another thing that you can do is to take the door check out and make a dents on the side of it to push the rubber part down. But this is not easy. Perhaps the door check could also be taken apart (with drill for example as it's welded) and new rubber part installed or made from something like old car tyre...
Aisin replacements for $15 each. I have no experience with them to comment on quality. I've replaced a few checks on my various vehicles, but I typically just grab one from a salvage yard if needed. 2007 TOYOTA PRIUS 1.5L L4 ELECTRIC/GAS Door Check | RockAuto
Be sure to check out this thread for an upgraded option, unfortunately RA doesn't have a $15 AISIN version for the Sienna.
