Hi Group! As my signature should show I just got my Prius 2 days ago after a much shorter wait than anticipated and I want to thank all of you here for the helpfull info, espec. john1701a In my short time as an owner I got over 47MPG on the highway drive home (about 40miles) going down to 43MPG now around town due to hills and stop and go; had a custom hitch installed yesterday for $150;bought a Hollywood Traveler 3bike hitch rack $139.99 and yes "I'm Loving it". Oh, I also spent a little more than I should have for the extended warranty 1170.00 (he actually wanted over 1600.00 to start) this tricky credit mgr also talked me into the 4year 55,000 mile maintenance agreement for 995.00 which the same day I called and told him I changed my mind and wanted to cancel. He told me the 30,000 maintenance was $600 alone, 11 oil changes, a couple other expensive maintenances so it sounded like a good idea to pay for it now, rather than be surprised later. Hubby said $600 for what! and then when I take a closer look to what is really done per the maint. book, it's a lot of inspection but no real parts replaced at all so I was taken. His answer was the inspections are done at $91 an hour! I said, refund my credit card I will take care of maintenance elsewhere I paid $995 over MSRP, not exactly thrilled with having to do that but was told upfront to get on the list, was necessary (I was #9 on list) THEN, on the 5th, after they said, I can buy the car, I should come right in, blah blah, it will be sold today, they try to add $1995.00 "MARKET ADJUSTMENT" which I balked and then was told they would honor what they had said less than 3weeks prior, good thing I had paperwork with me one more note before I get too wordy, I have found so many helpfull things out here, thanks again everyone, Was driving me crazy about the supposedly auto daytime driving lights... Kim
Congrats, Kim...but you know if you are sitting around on line with your Prius parked, IT'S PRUIS ABUSE!! haha Bob
Thanks guys, I'm also another member of the "my oil was overfilled" club decided to check my oil today and sure enough just finished visiting the sister dealership here in town, which isn't Toyota specific but is connected to the one where my pri was purchased so they drained and refilled the oil correctly. had to wait around awhile cause they don't stock 5W30 but they got some and took care of it, though I haven't tested the dip stick again just yet, I'm pretty sure they got the message to NOT overfill
Congratulations on your acquisition ( I am sure this is covered by one of the rules of acquisition)!!! I will check the oil in the morning. I forgot. I got excited. It was good! If I might be allowed and with your forgiveness was it good for you!! I can't imagine it to be other wise. Be good
