I have a question about Prius 2010, because I had replaced my old battery pack by a battery pack with all modules tested and proven at a good capacity. but after switching the new battery pack doesn't last for long as the previous on. Only one month it can last and the check Hybrid System pop up. Is it because of Car system or it because of the battery itself ? Could any body help explain me about this issue ?
Chances are you were sold a battery of cells taken from old Prius batteries, not a new Toyota battery. I'm guessing that you didn't buy the battery from a Toyota dealer. When a Prius battery fails, some of the cells still work but are old and close to failure. Some people take cells like that from several failed Prius batteries and make a working battery. A battery like that will work for a while but won't last long.
Yes of course, you are right this is the situation in Cambodia. most of the Car garage sold Battery either module or pack from a imported car from abroad. But mine was tested and good quality proven. the garage said that because of my car electric system work not properly charge and discharge, so could you explain me would car charging system be possibly broken as he said or not ? and how to find out whether problem caused by car charging system or by battery ? thanks for your reply.
welcome! it is possible that the inverter is bad. that is the unit that does the charging and discharging. but it is rarely the case. rebuilding a battery is never a guaranteed success, no matter what the garage tells you, unless you can put all brand new cells in. the only way to determine the actual problem is with tech stream diagnostic software and the service manual.
Did you balance the battery pack? Or just replace the cells? If they are not balanced, you will get errors.
Oh I think they just replace the battery there are no such balancing system in my country. thanks for your comment.
